Hello. How are you? How are you feeling? I feel cautiously optimistic. How do you feel?

You know, I'm going to know better how I feel after I hear the interview that you conducted.

You sure will. We have the interview that you and I both kind of wanted, particularly this week,

because we are nearing the year mark of all of this life-changing, world-altering stuff that we've been living through.

And we have William Hanage, who's an associate professor of epidemiology and a faculty member at the Center

for Communicable Disease Dynamics at a little known university called Harvard. And...

Heard of it.

It's in Cambridge. It was a fascinating conversation where Professor Hanage gave the real state of the state

where we are now, what we got wrong in the last year, and what we should be doing to look forward in the future.

We talked all about the updated CDC guidelines that we got this week about sort of how you should behave

if and when you get the vaccine. We talked about all the myth and messaging around the vaccine.

We talked about the messaging about coronavirus and what we got wrong over the last year.

It was really news you can use. And it helped put everything in context,

but it really was like a look at where we are now and where we're going to be. So it's less hand-ranging about what happened

and there's certainly hand-ranging to do, but it was practical. And I hope you guys will find it practical too.

My hope is that somewhere in the interview, he simply says once you get the shot,

you can tarry off all your clothes and run naked through the street and you're free.

I'll tell you that. He will not. But go live and let live, brother.

Well, it's funny that this is happening now because in my own just personal sphere,

I'm seeing a massive uptick of people I know getting the shot today.

In fact, as we speak, my wife is getting the shot.
