You're going to be. Just like you, my heart breaks for the situation regarding COVID-19 as it continues to evolve and disrupt so much of our daily lives,

it's natural to feel like we are isolated in a wilderness, very much like Jesus was in the wilderness.

Yet in these times of solitude, God gives us time for self-examination and speaks to us most tenderly.

In fact in Hosea chapter 2 verse 14 it says therefore behold I will allure you and bring you into the wilderness and I will speak tenderly to you and

reconcile you to me. These are times indeed when it is only us in God.

In Christian worship, some forms of prayers are called litany's,

and they're used in services with a number of petitions and responses and supplications.

In the year 1528, Martin Luther hailed the Great Lydney as one of the greatest Christian prayers ever written.

I will be reading this prayer as a meditation, and I pray it will help guide you into

the presence of the Holy Father, the Holy Son, and the Holy Spirit,

who are present and perfectly equipped to care for your needs.

So rest here for a moment as we begin.

Just escape into this time of safe refuge, a place of divine encounter.

As I read this great litany from the Book of Common Prayer, I will give you pause to respond.

Oh God, the Father, Creator and Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth, have mercy upon us.

Oh God, the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy upon us.

O God the Holy Spirit, sanctifier of the faithful, have mercy upon us.

O Holy, blessed, and glorious Trinity one God, have mercy upon us.

Remember not Lord Christ, our offenses, nor the offenses of our forefathers.

Neither reward us according to our sins.

But spare us, good Lord.

Spare thy people whom thou hast redeemed with the most precious blood,
