coronavirus and you know this social distancing and the isolation and everything

is not impacting not only farmers but you know the people who put

food on our plates and the you know just everything I have a lot of questions about this. A lot of Iowa

staters who listen to this podcast deeply care about agriculture, not only in our

state but in the country, so I wanted to bring on Mike Postion. He is the current president of the Iowa Pork Producers Association.

How are you holding up during all these crazy times, my man man you're doing okay?

Yeah, yeah, thanks Chris. You know, we're doing we're doing fine here on the farm,

you know, in some ways we kind of have some some built-in

advantages when it comes to social distancing and isolating. We're kind of

already socially distanced and isolated on the farm.

So it's kind of business as usual to some degree.

Now, of course, we're still concerned about making sure

we're following all the recommendations that are out there to make sure that we and our families and employees and everyone stay healthy as well because our number one priority certainly is the health and

safety of our families but right behind that is the safety and health of our pigs

and you know we have to we have to be healthy in order to take care of them

because that's seven days a week 24 hours a day kind of deal and farmers don't really take sick days because the animals need care
