Hello, three minutes after ten is the time. How delightful to have your company again this morning.

Unfortunately, we will find ourselves inexorably and inevitably drawn towards the

continuing coronavirus crisis, but it will not be an unleavened diet of virus, I promise you. I mean,

of course, epic news events notwithstanding. The plan at the moment is to take the Prime Minister's

virtual conference speech live.

This is for two reasons.

Number one, to see if they can, unlike yesterday, actually managed to broadcast 10 minutes without something going wrong.

And number two is just in probably hope more than expectation that he says something substantive or interesting.

In the context of what the current regulations are in various parts of the country,

it would, of course, be a major breakthrough for him to say something that was true.

But that is a negotiable editorial decision. I also really like the conversation about electric scooters

that I have heard unfolding in all manner of places, all sorts of different corners of the country.

There are many topics that unite the 12-year-old with the 60-year-old, but electric scooters seem to be a subject upon which everybody has a view.

And in the good old days, before we set fire to our country in the name of people who don't know what the word sovereignty means,

in fact, judging by my inbox, people who mostly can't spell the word sovereignty means. In fact, judging by my inbox,

people who mostly can't spell the word sovereignty, set fire to the nation,

e-scooters would have been an absolute humdinger of a conversational topic. And I am on a daily

quest to at least pay some service to the sorts of stories that would once have entertained and indeed engrossed us.

So do keep them coming, by the way.

I kind of need to choose my words very carefully now, because I'm going to tell you a story about

one of the people I am fondest of in the world who has not had a good lockdown.
