Summary

He texted her "Is love going to kill me?" and was dead 33 days later. What the medical examiner found next changes everything.

Christian Obumseli was a 27-year-old Nigerian-American engineer and former college linebacker who met OnlyFans creator Courtney Clenney in Tulum in 2020. Over the next two years, their relationship became increasingly violent — documented in police body cam footage, elevator surveillance video, and Christian's own text messages describing being stabbed in the leg, cut on the face, and called racial slurs. On April 3, 2022, he died from a stab wound to the chest in their Miami penthouse.

In Part 1, Tyrella and Nikita walk through who Christian was before Courtney, every documented incident of violence, and the night he died — including the Miami-Dade medical examiner's findings that directly contradict Courtney's defense.

Part 2 (the arrest, the four-year delay, and prosecutorial misconduct) is available now for patrons, or drops Thursday for everyone.

⚠️ Content warning: domestic violence, racial slurs, graphic descriptions of injury and death.

On April 3rd, 2022 at 4.57 in the afternoon, a 911 dispatcher in Miami picked up a call from a woman screaming that her boyfriend was dying. And by the time paramedics arrived, Christian Obamselli, 27 years old, was on the floor of a luxury high-rise apartment bleeding from a stab wound to his chest. He was still alive when they got

was a tattoo of her name. He would not survive the night, and there is something else. Five weeks

This is Christian's story.

We're going to start with him because in most of the coverage of this case,

0:51.7

he's kind of being treated as a supporting character

and his own murder, kind of an afterthought. And we are not doing that here. I'm Nikita. And I'm

Torella. And welcome to this feels criminal. Did you ever hear a story and think we're not getting

the full picture? That's where we start. On this and think, we're not getting the full picture?

That's where we start.

1:20.4

On this feels criminal, we unpack crime, corruption, and conspiracy with curiosity, context, and just a touch of chaos.

1:25.7

We step outside the timelines and ask better questions and explore the systems behind the story,

1:27.6

all in a voice that feels more like a friend than a reporter. Because when you identify the patterns, you can't unsee how often they show up.

This week, we are talking about Christian Obam Selly. This is part one where we are going to talk

about Christian himself and the events leading up to his death. And when you come back for part two where we are going to talk about Christian himself and the events leading up to his

death. And when you come back for part two, we are going to talk about the arrest and where the case
