Psalm chapter 32 verse 5, I acknowledged my sin to you and I did not cover my

iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to the Lord and you forgive the iniquity of my sin.

Oh, this is such a beautiful Psalm about God's forgiveness. It starts verse 1,

blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered, blessed is the man against

whom the Lord counts no iniquity. And that true Romans quotes from this, yes, blessed is the one

who is forgiven of their transgressions before God, who sin has been covered, blessed is the one

against whom the Lord counts no iniquity. That God, the holy God of the universe would look at

any one of us and say, I don't count any sin against you. This is the gospel. This is the reality

for all who have put their trust in Jesus. And verse 5, acknowledged their sin to God who did

not try to cover their iniquity, who said, I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.

He forgives in response to our confession. He covers over our sin when we don't try to cover

our sin. What this means is, well, first and foremost, if you've never put your trust in Jesus

for the forgiveness of your sin, then do that today. Are you waiting for God as man away for you

to be reconciled to him, forgiven of all your sin through Jesus' life and death and resurrection,

put your trust in Jesus. And when you do, for all who have put your faith in Jesus, confession

of sin should be a normal, continual part of our communion with God, acknowledging our sin to

him, not covering our iniquity. I was sharing in our church family this last week, we've been having

our worship gatherings and subsequent prayer gatherings on different nights, times of confession

and people confessing all kinds of things to God, to each other, addictions, adulteries, sexual

and morality, lust, greed, materialism, selfishness, I guess the list could go on and on. And I've

been at most every one of these worship gatherings, prayer gatherings where we've had times in confession
