I don't know if we would begin anything this week with this game, but here we go with a quarterback change in Tennessee due to injury with Ryan Tannenhill out with his ankle sprain Malik Willis will make his NFL starting debut today for the Tennessee Titans the rookie out of Liberty is Tennessee visits the Houston Texans.

So the Texans hosting the Titans Malik Willis will start for Tennessee in place of the injured Ryan Tannenhill Nico Collins will not play in this game for Houston but Brandon cooks is expected to go catch and passes from Davis Mills can what can you tell us here Titans and Texans line movement.

It's always really interesting when you have a rookie quarterback or a quarterback we haven't seen before really in a regular season game making a start for the first time because everyone kind of asks themselves the same question right which is.

What is the difference between this quarterback and the quarterback that I that I know that I have a rating for or that I feel like I at least intuitively understand how good they are which is Ryan Tannenhill it's all just a big guess right and with with so many of these games where it's a rookie starter taking over or a third stringer you know we have Bailey Zappies first start a few weeks ago any of those games it really becomes more honestly you could say all point spreads are essentially like a guess about what the difference between the teams are these are the ones that are really a guess where it's just like.

I sure you could convince me of a lot of different things in terms of this game specifically with Malik Willis starting the Titans opened basically between a three and a three and a half point favorite at the start of the week then rumblings started basically among a lot of the Titans beat reporters Ryan Tannenhill is wearing a boot Ryan Tannenhill may not play this week it's sort of you know unknown basically the line starts to crash as a result of the expectation he may not play we go through three it's two and a half a couple days ago Malik Willis is confirmed as the starter and then based on that we're going to be able to do that.

Basically where we are right now is the lowest where you know in terms of Tennessee being favored that we've been the entire week Titans a one point favorite basically everywhere there are a couple picks on the board but it's also worth noting we've known this for more than 24 hours basically I wouldn't expect there to be a ton of like we already know like everyone knows everyone who bets knows and we got it so I actually would expect this to stay pretty stable now for the you know up until game time basically we have some some injuries and some games which I don't think are going to work like that where I think we will have movement now and then for the next

couple hours this won't be one of them I think Titans are going to close basically one or pick the total is going to be basically 39 or 39 and a half and you're going to have to kind of ask yourself is Malik Willis worse than Ryan Tannenhill if so by how much and keep in mind that they're playing a little bit of a depleted Houston team one of the worst teams in the league.

Yeah not exactly the same you know problem that we have to solve is with Malik Willis where it's like well we don't know anything what is this with the Patriots and the Jets we have a reasonable sense of what these teams are now the Jets haven't played you know murderers row in terms of a slate of opponents on this winning street that they've been on you know the Packers is like their signature win on this run and and how much do we even give them a lot of credit for that based on the fact the Packers have lost to basically everybody this season including the Jets

and including like everyone else including Taylor had to give the commanders last week so that's kind of been the the one that they were hanging their hat on all right so trying to figure out just how good the Jets are is this for real which is kind of sounds like a cliche but I think actually kind of applies here. The market at least is basically signaling that the Patriots are pretty pretty soundly better than the Jets on a neutral field which is pretty interesting given what we saw Monday night against the Chicago Bears Patriots were about two two and a half most of the week this opened even less than that so

very small implied difference between the teams what we've seen essentially this morning and last night Patriots are a full three point favorite against the Jets on the road in this game some of that's maybe due to injury breeze hall Vera Tucker for the Jets not going to play obviously in the game as well

Mac Jones going to start for the Patriots and we know that going in at least so maybe that's a little bit more market confidence as well but three a very very key number in the NFL for people who don't know lands the most of any margin of victory and it's a very low total game so it seems like three is going to happen a lot this is a big move
