We do have a couple news and notes before we get into our main topic, which is going to be the current realities and

situations of this current Matliflor contract talk negotiation, et cetera. What we know, what we don't

know, what's yet to be decided. We're going to go through all of it today. I think there's

some confusion out there. I think there's some stuff that we do know. I think there's some stuff

that we clearly do not know. We're going to break it all down today. This could be, there's a little bit of risk in recording this episode today. If all of a sudden I wake up on Friday morning as you're listening to this at 8 a.m. 9 a.m. And Matt LaFleur signed a contract extension is one of those episodes that has a very, very small shelf life.

But if that's the case, I'll be probably going live throughout the course of the day at some

point and breaking down the entire situation.

So we'll make up for it later, I guess.

But hopefully this has a little bit of a shelf life.

But again, before we get there, a couple pieces of news and notes, John Harbaugh hired as the New York

Giants head coach.

This doesn't particularly have anything to do with the Green Bay Packers right now, but that

John Harbaugh situation does directly affect some of the stuff that's going on with Matlafleur as well.

We'll talk about that in a bit.

But we now have one of the openings that is filled in New York with John Harbaugh, and we do have now one coaching candidate that is officially off the market. So John Harbaugh is a New York giant head coach. We'll see what type of staff he builds around him. But we have one coach off the board and again, one job off the board for potential coaches. By the way,

that was one that was viewed for a while as a potential Jeff Hathley destination. With Harbaugh going

there, you can scratch Jeff Hathley obviously out of the New York situation. And there's still

plenty of jobs out there. Hathley is getting six interviews, which by the way, that's the other

piece of news and notes here. He is interviewing with the Pittsburgh Steelers as well, which again brings him up to six different teams. So a lot of opportunity for Jeff Halfley, but the Giants will not be one of those. Meanwhile, Sean Mannion, Packers quarterback's coach, will get to be the offensive coordinator for the East West Shrine game coaching for the West team. So that's a pretty cool opportunity for him as he tries to continue to add to his resume and get his name out there a little bit more. And it helps the Packers too because now you have a coach that's on staff that gets to coach these kids up close and personal. That's a great experience as he can go and talk to gody and Matt and the scouts and say here's
