Justice Antilin Scalia is the greatest Supreme Court justice of my lifetime

I have such incredible respect for this man.

I was so sad when he passed at a ranch in Texas and so grateful that I had the opportunity to spend some time with him in DC, to tour his

chambers with my wife, to smoke cigars with him at the university club and Clarence Thomas and just I had just I hold him in such high esteem

with everything going on with everything going on with everything going on

with Israel and Hamas and the protests in this country particularly.

I thought it would be good to go back outside of today's moment. To 1997, it was Holocaust Remembrance Day, and Supreme Court

Justice Antonin and Scalia gave a speech providing, let's say, perspective, on how the Holocaust could happen in Germany's

progressive environment. How could that happen? Germany was a great nation.

And I want you to think about these protests today,

with that in mind,

listen carefully to one of my heroes.

Such a tale of insanity and diabolical cruelty, it would not be believed. But it did happen.

The one message I want to convey today is that you will have missed the most frightening aspect of it all.

If you do not appreciate that it happened in one of the most educated most

progressive most cultured countries in the world. The Germany of the late 1920s and early 1930s was a world

leader in most fields of art, science, and intellect.

Berlin was a center of theater

with the assistance of the famous producer Max Reinhart,

playwrights and composers of the caliber of Bertolt Brecht and Court Vile flourished.

Berlin had three opera houses and Germany as a whole no less than 80.
