A CDC survey found that 1 in 5 high school girls is a victim of sexual abuse, and now an online-based type of sexual abuse is increasing at a concerning rate: sextortion. Sextortion occurs when a victim’s explicit or sensitive content is used to blackmail them for money or additional explicit content.
