I'm Cindy U. And I'm joined by James Forsyth and Katie Bors.

So today, President Joe Biden makes his first foreign trip, has landed in the UK,

and is now meeting the Prime Minister.

James, what of the first moments of their meeting for the first time looked like?

So they've done our kind of photo-up Joe Joe Biden saying if you've got something in common,

both married above their station.

But there is obviously an elephant in the room now after the extraordinary splash of

times this morning about a kind of formal demarch from the US diplomatic representative

in London now.

Biden hasn't yet appointed an ambassador to David Frost to basically say,

you guys are endangering peace in Northern Ireland.

If you actually use the protocol, White House is concerned about this,

cool it.

And then the kind of the carrot, which is a carrot that lots of people on the EU side have urged the US to make

which is to say that you if you align with the EU's SPS rules to ease Czechs in Northern Ireland

that wouldn't preclude a US free trade deal now I think it's quite in the reaction from the US side

this morning they're clearly trying

to walk this to a more moderate position. It is quite something to have a day march, especially ahead

of a G7 summit, especially when you consider how, in terms of Joe Biden's big goals, in terms of trying to get the G7 countries
