Today is Wednesday, April 15. We're talking about what could be round two of peace talks between

the U.S. and Iran, the sticking points holding up negotiations and the impact the war has had on the

The U.S. and Iran could be meeting for a second round of direct talks over the next couple of days.

That's what President Trump told the New York Post yesterday, and Iran has confirmed it will continue to participate.

But again, there have been mixed messages about where negotiations stand. For example,

Trump also told the Post he did not like that news outlets have been saying the U.S.

proposed a 20-year suspension of Iran's nuclear activity rather than a permanent ban,

though the Washington Post says it was vice president and chief negotiator

J.D. Vance, who made the 20-year offer. Either way, Iran has said it will only agree to suspend

nuclear activity for five years, so that still seems to be the main sticking point holding up

negotiations. Of course, another issue is the flow of oil and other commodities in the region.

The U.S. military says it has Navy ships

not in the Strait of Hormuz, but in what's basically the exit ramp before vessels can get

to the Indian Ocean and then onto other countries. Fighter jets and drones are also watching

from above. The military says it's only enforcing a blockade on ships going to and from Iran,
