Good morning. I'm Kate Baldwin. It's Thursday, April 30th. Here are the five things you need to know to start your day.

Number one, the war plans.

Sources tell CNN that President Trump expects Iran to present a revised peace plan by tomorrow.

But don't expect any in-person talks anytime soon, nothing like that, because right now the president says they're only communicating by phone.

And he also appears to be digging in on the U.S. blockade in Iranian ports, and sources say

that tell CNN the administration is potentially planning for that to drag on for months.

Well, the blockade is genius, okay?

The blockade has been 100% foolproof.

It shows how good our Navy is, I can tell you that.

Nobody's going to play games.

And Axius, now reporting that the Sent-Con commander today is going to brief the president on new plans for potential military action in Iran,

signaling that Trump is seriously considering resuming major combat operations,

either to try to break through the stalled talks or to deliver a final blow before ending the war.

As for the cost of that war, the Pentagon just put out a price tag at $25 billion.

But a source tells CNN, that's too low and it's closer to $50 billion.

And Democrat Rokana pushed the Defense Secretary on that price then what that means for Americans.
