R.C. Sproul (1939–2017) was known for his ability to winsomely and clearly communicate deep, practical truths from God’s Word. He was founder of Ligonier Ministries, first minister of preaching and teaching at Saint Andrew’s Chapel, first president of Reformation Bible College, and executive editor of Tabletalk magazine.

| 1:34.2 | for junior high school Sunday school that the denomination had sent down to us, and I was asked |
| 1:40.9 | by the session of the church to read through the curriculum and see whether |
| 1:45.3 | we wanted to use it. And as I was reading the curriculum, it began to talk about some of the |
| 1:51.8 | things we read in the Old Testament where God seems so fierce in the manifestation of his wrath, |
| 1:58.0 | where he kills people instantly and things of that sort. |
| 2:02.4 | And the curriculum was teaching the children this and said, when we read these stories |
| 2:07.6 | in the Old Testament, we have to remember that things didn't really happen like this, |
| 2:14.7 | that these were myths that were articulated by the Old Testament writers, because these |
| 2:20.9 | were Jewish people who were warriors and they were somewhat fierce and so on, and they were |
