Hello everyone and welcome to Talk Nurdy.

Today is Monday, November 27th and I'm your host Kara Santa Maria

and as I've been doing for the last week or two I'm recording this from a

hotel room underneath a blanket because that's apparently the best way to get good

sound when you can't control anything in your hotel room like the weird refrigerator noises coming from the

corner of this room in downtown Wellington. I've been having a really cool

traveling kind of work vacation, working vacation, that's what it's called.

I spent some time. I give a talk actually with Alan Duffy in Melbourne, yes, that's how you

pronounce it. I've been taught by several people. It's

Melbourne also gave a talk in Sydney at the Australian Skeptics Convention and

spent some time in the South Island of New Zealand that was more relaxation and it was

amazing. Now I'm up in Wellington about to give a talk here for the NZ

skeptics. Yeah, said that right too. New Zealand skeptics and after that I'm headed to

Hong Kong. I'm actually flying to Hong Kong the day that this goes to air and

I'm going to spend some time with the Hong Kong Skeptics and I think the Dongguon

skeptics there in southern China. All of this travel and all of this speaking is

helping to support the podcast as are sponsorships from listeners like you and from you know the

sponsors whose ads I read in the middle of the show all that kind of comes together to make

the podcast possible because of course I'm doing it all myself I've recently

hired out some help with editing thank goodness but still doing a lot of work on my

own and of course I have to pay the editor so let me give thanks.
