I'm your host, retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

You know, folks, we've covered a lot of material on the July 13th attempted assassination of Donald Trump.

But what we haven't covered much of is the person at this rally who lost his life during this

attempted assassination.

That's Corey Comparator on the screen, a father, a hero.

He died protecting his family at the Trump rally.

In fact, he died protecting his daughter, Kaylee, who was right next to him, who right

before he was shot in the head, he moved her out of the way, split seconds before.

And I think that's an important thing to mention. You know, what defines you?

Who are you? When something, the media wants to define who you are. Who is Corey Comparator, you know?

And one of the things we know, he was a firefighter, a father, and of course, a hero.

But the most thing I think he probably would have wanted to be remembered for was to be a father.

So a father's last act was shielding his family from the gunshots.

And relatives and friends described Corey Comparatore, who was fatally shot in the Trump

rally as a devoted father who served as a volunteer firefighter and loved to fish.

When a gunman fired shots from the roof of a nearby building, Mr. Comparator threw himself over his family members to shield them, according to the governor, Josh Shapiro.

Mr. Comparator was shot in the head and died at the scene. Two other rally attendees were critically injured in the shooting.

Officials said Mr. Comparatore's sister,

Dawn Comparator Schaefer confirms his identity on Sunday.

We watched him die on the news, she said, in a phone interview through tears.
