Okay, as I have often said, nobody can know everything, and I have often called upon listeners of Gun Talk to help me out.

And boy, you really have this time.

I got a couple of things wrong last Sunday, and I need to make this correction, okay?

And I was pointing out that the laws change as you go from state to state.

I made the mistake of thinking there was logic involved and that what I knew to be true in

my state, Louisiana, would make sense to be true in other states.

All right, let's go through a couple of these because I really appreciate folks pointing it out and said, hey, Tom, you messed up on this one. And I did. First of all, we had a caller asking about having a gun in a gun free zone and a school zone, if you will. And I say, well, in Louisiana, when you have a carry permit, you can carry on a school zone or in the school campus, but not in the building.

You got to check your laws carefully on this to know what it is.

I was right, but I was wrong because you can if you have a Louisiana permit.

Turns out that there's a provision in the federal gun-free school

zone law that allows that a state can do that. They can make it possible for somebody with a carry

permit to carry on those grounds, but only to people who have a permit issued by that state.

That is, somebody with a Texas permit could not come to

Louisiana and carry on the school grounds. I know it makes no sense if you're okay to do it in your

state. Why couldn't you do it in another state? But there it is. Once again, proving the fact that you

can't know all this stuff, and I sure do depend upon
