I don't like being told what to do.
I bet you don't like being told what to do.
No one on this planet likes being told what to do.
But, there's something great about being here.......
We have one another.
We have the wisdom and knowledge of those who have lived, gotten experiences, and learned lessons we haven't.
Most people don't tap into that because their egos don't allow them to do so.
Have you ever had someone come to you telling you how to do something different?
They may have said, "What you should've done, or what you should do....."
Or maybe, they've said, "You're doing it all wrong...."
The ego has an adverse reaction to this, but imagine, you sat and listened for a moment to what they're trying to tell you.
Now, let's say you applied what they suggested.
Imagine it actually worked.
It doesn't make you less intelligent.
It doesn't make you incapable of operating your own life, it's simply a correction from the universe to help you improve your direction during your journey.
Next time you recieve correction, take it as your direction to the shortest path to success.

Here's what most people miss when it comes to correction. Most people don't like to be corrected. And I don't like it when people tell me I'm wrong. You know, the other day I had a meeting. It's just a natural tendency, right? But like the other day I had a meeting and I was talking about how the feds were having an emergency meeting. I had it on good authority to that was happening. Apparently it didn't and I was wrong. I hate admitting it now on here, but I don't like to be wrong. I like to think that I do my research. I like to think that I'm paying close attention and that I'm informed and in the know and can trust the places. And I was fucking wrong. But guess what? When people started telling me I'm wrong, I learned, okay, man, I need to triple check this shit next time. I can't just go off of this. You can't trust fucking nobody's information these days. See, I got correction. And because I got correction, I got direction. So I look at it this way. I learned this phrase from Pastor Keith Craft to Elevate Life Church in Frisco, Texas, is when you get correction, you receive direction. See, if my kid gets in trouble and I have to spank them, which I never do, but if I have to spank them, I'm correcting them, but now they get direction. And you need to remember as a leader, a father, a mother, a manager, a boss, |
1:28.6 | you have to think about it when you correct somebody, you have to give them direction. |
1:33.9 | When you give correction, you are also giving direction. |
1:37.6 | And when you get correction, you are also giving correction. |
1:41.3 | So if I've got to get corrected, then somebody is direct, they're correcting me |
1:45.7 | and directing my path for something better. If I am correcting somebody else, I don't need to just be like, |
1:51.3 | that's wrong. That's not correcting. Here is a better way to do this. Now I'm giving them direction. |
1:57.3 | That's wrong is correction. People don't like that shit. But what they like is here's a better way to do that. |
2:03.1 | Or let me show you a faster, more efficient, better, the right way. Oh, that's incorrect. But let me show you the |
2:11.2 | correct way. Let me correct you and then give you some direction. You see most people walk around with a |
2:16.6 | chip on their shoulder when they get corrected, they get so upset and so angry, |
2:19.7 | and they don't like to admit that they're wrong. But the truth is once you open your mind, you rewire it to the fact that, hey, when I'm getting corrected, I'm being directed in a better direction than I was. Hey, when I'm being corrected, I'm learning what I was doing wrong and then get direction on how I can start doing it right. |
2:17.0 | Then all of a sudden, you don't mind correction. |
2:18.9 | You look forward to it. learning what I was doing wrong and then get direction on how I can start doing it right. |
2:35.4 | Then all of a sudden, you don't mind correction. |
2:37.3 | You look forward to it because it's there to make you better anyway. |
