Yeah, that was when a corporation took little things like insurrection seriously.

It's easy to forget because it was four years ago and it seems a lot longer.

But in the immediate aftermath of January 6th, Donald was banned from all social media platforms

and he was unable to spread it amplify misinformation and

disinformation. So, happy anniversary to all who celebrate. By the same token, do you remember that

there were scores of corporations promised to stop donating to the 147 Republicans who voted to overturn the election results.

Well, it only took about a year and a half for many of those corporations to renege on that promise.

And now, here we are in 2025, a mere 11 days out from the second Trump administration.

And a lot of the guardrails have not held.

So, yeah, four years ago, much simpler times, which is kind of a crazy thing to say,

considering how complicated it all was.

And, of course, the social media companies are back to falling in line,

which is to say,

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Tuesday morning that the company's platforms were going to move

in a new direction. Specifically, Zuckerberg said he wants to return to the platform's roots

and restore free expression by changing the

moderation. Here he is discussing that. So we're going to get back to our roots and focus on

reducing mistakes, simplifying our policies, and restoring free expression on our platforms.

More specifically, here's what we're going to do. First, we're going to get rid of fact checkers and replace them with community notes similar to X, starting in the U.S.

The tech mogul also said that meta's platforms were going to get rid of restrictions on topics like immigration and gender identity.
