We're more than halfway through quarterly results reported by S&P 500 companies and according to two data

firms, the vast majority of companies have beaten

earnings expectations. This is cheering Wall Street where investors have sent the

benchmark index to new highs. A lawsuit by passengers says Alaska Airlines was warned of a whistling sound during a previous

flight of the same Boeing Max 9 plane that lost a door plug mid-flight last month. The suit accuses Boeing and Alaska of negligence.

Google is bringing a generative artificial intelligence tool that calls Gemini to mobile

devices. It's now available in the US as a digital aid on Android phones and on

Google's iPhone app. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is expecting more losses

at banks as they deal with falling real estate values and souring commercial loans.

She told a Senate hearing yesterday that this is unlikely to be a risk to the banking system.
