Summary

Hi Friends! I'm coming to you again this week as a human (read: not an expert) with some thoughts about the coronavirus pandemic. Many of you reached out last week letting me know last week's check-in was helpful so I decided to record another episode.

In this episode, I talk about how #nuancematters in our current situation. I talk about some of the things I'm noticing as I've had more time adapting to this new normal. I share what's been working for me and answer I common question I've been getting from family and followers about carbs, cravings in quarantine. I explore how there's no right or wrong here, and how we can continue to nourish ourselves in a very challenging time.

At the end of the episode, I invite all of you to send in a short essay or mp3 clip of you explaining what the gift of time or boredom has been teaching you so far. Send the email to: [email protected]

My heart is with the first responders, the doctors, the nurses, the grocery store workers,

0:31.5

the farmers, the policemen and women, the people who are making our world happen amidst this pandemic are truly

0:42.9

heroes to me. And I just wanted to start off by acknowledging them and you and also all

0:53.0

of us who are sacrificing and staying home for the health and safety of our

0:58.3

family, our community, our parents, our neighbors, our friends, all of us are playing a part

1:07.8

in helping. And I just am grateful for that and I want you to know that

1:12.6

I see you and I recognize the hard work that you are doing to make this to make this work

1:20.5

and this interdependent nature of each of us what you do affects me what I do affects you

1:26.9

and I am so grateful that we are

1:29.4

waking up to that fact. And I'm grateful for you and you're part of doing those things that's

1:36.4

hopefully helpful long term. So with that all being said, I want to take some time today to talk about kind of where I am right now

1:48.7

just to see if some of my thoughts might be helpful for you just like I mentioned last week I'm

1:54.5

coming to you as a human I am not an expert on this situation honestly no, no one is. No one knows what's normal. No one knows

2:05.0

what is coming next. No one knows exactly what this is going to look like. And so I'm not coming to

2:13.1

as an expert about nutrition in this podcast, really more so coming to you as a human who has been

2:21.7

thinking a lot about our situation. And hopefully some of my thoughts are helpful to you.

2:27.3

Last week, I kind of took a gamble and just said, okay, I'm going to kind of throw out some

2:31.9

thoughts when this whole thing was newer in my area,

2:36.6

at least, and many of you reached out letting me know that you found it helpful,

2:41.3

and so I decided that I would do it again this week.
