We're all in this together, my friends.

Now as of today, the beginning of May, more than a million cases have been reported in the United States.

That number includes more than 61,000 deaths.

And it's still not clear what happens to all those people who have apparently recovered from the coronavirus.

Let's say you didn't get tested, but you think you had the disease.

You got infected. How do you know if you're actually immune?

And why is the disease deadly to some of us, but not to others?

These are the subjects. James Hamblin has spent a lot of time researching and writing about in the last few months.

Dr. Hamblin is a preventative medicine physician and staff writer at the Atlantic.

And he teaches public health at Yale University.

He also has a book coming out this year called Clean about the surprising effects of hygiene.
