0:22.0	It is now one year to the day that the United Kingdom went into the first ever lockdown of an
0:26.7	entire nation. One year to the day since we were all told to hide in our homes for three weeks
0:31.4	to ensure that the NHS was not overwhelmed. One year to the day since we were assured that this
0:36.6	was the only course of action to safeguard the nation's health. One year to the day since we were assured that this was the only course of
0:37.8	action to safeguard the nation's health. One year to the day since we've been told to save lives
0:43.0	by not seeing our loved ones, our sick relatives, our children and even sometimes our own pets.
0:48.7	And yet, here we are, all because of a virus that came from a city called Wuhan in China. Have we
0:54.0	saved lives?
0:54.9	Not if you believe the figure of 126,000 debts.
0:57.7	Was the NHS ever overwhelmed?
1:00.0	Not at all.
1:01.1	Has the continuing lockdown policy cost lives and businesses?
1:04.3	Quite obviously, yes.
1:06.0	Undoubtedly, yes.
1:07.2	We're taking stop today, of course, and we are taking a minute during this show
1:10.3	to think about all those who did lose their lives.
1:13.1	But we're also ready to look forward, ready to take stock and ready to ask tough questions about where we are and where we are going.
1:19.8	Because as more and more than half of the UK population has now been vaccinated, we ask why the shops and businesses remain largely closed.
1:26.9	We ask when we will see that glimmer of hope we were promised about going on holiday.
