Join us always my co. It's Nick Villado. And today we got a special guest on the show.

It's Eric Crocker. Crocky, as you know him on Twitter. He came on board last year during this exact time of year.

And when we heard the feedback to the show that when he, after he was on, we were like, we got to get him every year if we can. So it's been a little back and forth. We tried to get him last week, but he had some technical difficulties on his end. And then I had some technical difficulties in mind. So it's been a little bit of phone tag. But here he is today to talk about the defensive backs,

the corners and the safeties, two positions the Giants desperately need, two positions that are becoming more and more popular in every single NFL draft. You look at the history of the

drafts and teams are taking a lot more defensive facts. Why? Because it's a passing league. You

need these guys. And so he's here to break down all defensive backs in the 2022 NFL draft.

Before that, I just want to welcome him on. Croc, thanks for joining us again. Man, thanks for having me on. I mean, anytime I get a chance to talk about defensive backs and stuff like that, I'm all for it. Yeah, for those of you don't know, Kroc, former NFL player cornerback, the guy is, may remind you a voice you've heard recently, which I joked about with him before the podcast, because he sounds a little bit like Shaheen Hollow. I told him this last year. Look, sheen Hawley, obviously the coach from St. Peter's, now the coach of Seaton Hall got hired, big jump for him, which is awesome after their lead eight run told him this last year he got he's got a little bit of that northeast jersey vibe to him i'm gonna say this it's gonna come off a little crazy i got guys from new jersey in new york city you think we scared anything did you think we run about god trying to muscle us and tough us out every time i see him on this pot, every time I see him talking, he ran that little

for fun pro day that I saw on Twitter that he put out there where he's throwing passes. He's got that East Coast swag to him, so it's good to have him on. That's good. You know, everything I hear about the East Coast, y'all got, like, you know, nice little swag. So I'm from California, you know, and I pride myself on that. but say I got some East Coast swag.

That's that's a that's a positive in my opinion.

It should be taken as that. So let's talk a little cornerbacks, but I want to set the stage first before we do that. And I want to tell you this. And I'm sure you might already know this crock, but it sets, it's pretty much in my mind what kind of sets up exactly what we're going to be looking for

and talking about on this podcast. And that's the Giants defense moving to a completely different

defensive system in 2022. Wink Martindale's on board, former Baltimore Ravens coordinator.

So we expect, and I highly doubt we're going to be let down on this, a whole lot more cover

one and a ton of man coverage on an island for these corners. So if you can't, Crock, keep in mind the type of cornerbacks that Giants are looking for when evaluating this class and we ask about these players because that's what we're looking for. That's what I'm looking for. Man coverage guys who can hold up with just middle field closed safety looks. And so with that said, and you can you can look at it in that prison or not, who's your one one corner in this class? Do you have a one one? Are you kind of back and forth on the big two?
