allowing this extra time before clamping the cord can increase the blood volume in your baby

by up to one third crazy. And this provides your baby with iron reserves for their first six to

eight months of life. It improves developmental outcomes in their futures. It increases their

hemoglobin and hematocrit levels at birth. And it increases their brain malination. And what's

more, in pre-term babies, the benefits of delayed cord clamping are even greater.
