Responses to this outcome are mixed.

Some, like Emerson and California, feel relief.

When I got the news that President Trump was reelected and that he was going to crush the blue wall,

I was absolutely elated and thrilled. Not only did he survive two assassination attempts,

but he won the election miraculously. This is a great day for the Republic. This is a great time for

the republic. Others like Christine in Chicago, not so much. I am devastated, disgusted, scared. I can't

even communicate the emotional abuse I am feeling at this point. I could not even do Zoom calls

at work because I still have it together,

and it hasn't even started yet. An October survey by the American Psychological Association

found that 77% of U.S. adults report the future of the nation as a significant source of stress

in their lives. Sixty-nine percent said the 2024 election in particular was a

source of significant stress. How can we learn to cope with stress and anxiety related to politics,

and how can we navigate political divides in our personal lives and as a country?
