0:36.1	As I also introduce you to a dear friend who you may have heard on this
0:40.6	podcast before. So as we get started, I'm going to work to answer one simple question that you
0:46.5	may have questions about. And that's COP 27. Now, COP 27 is a specific climate gathering that moves from cities around the globe.
1:00.5	It's a part of the UN effort where members and states come together for two weeks of climate discussion.
1:08.4	There's an article here that I'm going to link to with show notes,
1:11.6	which specifically shares with you how you can actually find out more. What is the COP 27 summit?
1:20.1	Presently, it's underway in Egypt. It's hosted from November 6th through the 18th, and you can expect
1:27.1	renewed climate kind of
1:29.4	commitments coming out of some of these countries.
1:32.7	There is a bit of news on this front, too, which I'll share in just a moment.
1:37.5	COP stands for Conference of the Parties to the UN's Climate Change Framework and includes all the UN member states plus the
1:47.5	state of Palestine and the Holy See.
1:50.5	UN non-member states, Niu and the Cook Islands and the European Union, which negotiate as a
1:57.9	block.
1:58.9	The event occurs each year, apart from in 2020 when it was on hold due to COVID-19.
