Summary

I often hear phrases such as "God is bigger than the Bible." Today I'm going to explain why I think we should not say this. There is a sense in which it is true, but typically it is used to subtly lower the authority of the Bible. I hope to convince you today!

0:18.8	I want to tell you guys why I think we should stop saying God is
0:23.1	bigger than the Bible. Is it true? There is a certain way that you could mean that that I think

0:54.7	honoring God because they're saying God needs to be lifted up beyond everything? I actually do
1:00.2	think they're doing that. But I think they're actually mistaken and I think it could lead people
1:04.7	to a harmful place that is actually hurting them because it is actually separating the Bible, God's words, from God,
1:13.8	in a way that is very confusing.
1:16.0	You cannot honor God while demoting the very means he chooses to reveal himself.
1:23.7	Let me repeat it.
1:24.7	You cannot honor God while demoting the very means that he chose to reveal himself.
1:31.9	And I think that's what he's doing.
