The Maya believed that Cacao was discovered by the gods in a mountain along with other

delectable foods for their divine use.

According to Maya mythology, the plume serpent gave Cacao to the Maya after humans were created

by the divine grandmother goddess.

Let's get cozy, close your eyes, relax your body into the softness of your bed.

Now take a few deep breaths.

The term Coco derived from Cacao is almost universally used in English-speaking countries

to designate the seeds of the small tropical tree known to botanists as Theobroma Cacao,

from which a great variety of preparations under the name of Coco and Chocolate for eating

and drinking are made.

The name Chocolatol is nearly the same in most European languages and is taken from the

Mexican name of the drink.

The Mexicans not only use chocolate as a staple article of food, but they use the seeds

of the cacao tree as a medium of exchange.
