topical, candid conversations with the denizens of the quarters of power and influence in America,

the people who shift and shape our culture.

and of course, our bread and butter, our mother's milk,

Politics. And what a head-snapping, heart-stopping, eye-popping, jaw-dropping

spectacle that particular realm has offered up this summer.

to the GOP's ecstatic quasi-religious and it turned out rather too hubristic convocation in the home of

the Vernon Shirley and yes, Heilman's old style. To Joe Biden's abdication

of the Democratic throne, the ascension of Kamala Harris, and the unexpected unbridled

outbreak of Mamila-Mania from sea to shining sea.

It has been a wild, wild ride ride and one that has delivered us to a place that is both

somehow entirely familiar and totally Terra Incognita. A lot of Latin in this
