We the jury find the defendant Brendan R. Dassy guilty the first degree intentional homicide.

Protests and petitions formed as celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Alec Baldwin

made public pleas for the men convicted to be set free.

In fact, the cries grew so loud.

President Obama felt compelled to announce he had no power to pardon in state cases.

But were the verdicts against Stephen Avery and his nephew, Brendan Dassy,

questionable as the docuseries made them seem.
