His last book was TIRITY Incorporated, how private power crushed American liberty and what to do about it.

He just had a commentary, short, short commentary in Compact Magazine on the news of Donald Trump's

conviction on all 34 counts. The piece was entitled Alvin Bragg's anti-democracy verdict. That is

Why do you first give us just an update on Compact magazine. Maybe let's go back.

Why did you start the magazine created with, among others, our matchments here at the magazine?

What kind of themes and topics did you wish to get out there?

What would Compact do that other works on the terrain does not do?

Compact Magazine was launched by two of us, Matthew Schmitz and myself,

who both spent our entire kind of journalistic careers

in what you would call the mainstream center-right institutions,

in my case, at the Wall Street Journal,

and then at the New York Post, in Matthew's case at first things.

And we're very proud of our time at these publications,

but we felt that there was a kind of opening for an online journal

that as a kind of intellectual or ideological, if you will, proposition,

is willing to look at the material roots of many issues.
