Summary

In short, yes (as long as you tolerate it)!

Milk, yogurt, butter, ghee and colostrum are amazing sources of nutrients that have been highly valued by many indigenous groups for millenia. Dairy has a long tradition in Northern Europe, and among hunter-gatherer groups like the Maasai, or historically among groups like the Mongols (think warriors whose diets were basically milk, meat, and organs).

Dairy isn’t for everyone, and some may have issues with lactose (a deficiency on the lactase enzyme), or the casein and whey proteins within it. Personally I can’t tolerate dairy, but I am incredibly jealous of all of you who can because it’s delicious and nutrient-rch.

In this controversial thoughts video I discuss evidence linking dairy with cancer (most observational studies suggest an inverse correlation, i.e. higher intakes are associated with better outcomes), most of which suggests dairy is totally safe. I also discuss colostrum (the immunoglobulin-rich first milk from mammals) in detail. This stuff is chocked FULL of unique peptides, immunoglobulins, and growth factors that aid in gut healing, wound healing, and immune fortification.

Colostrum has even been studied in comparison to flu vaccinations in small studies and found to be just as effective at preventing influenza. More research is needed here but the findings from at least two studies are intriguing.

If you have questions about dairy in your diet, this video is for you! #theremembering

I get a lot of questions about dairy, especially since we just released our grass fed,

0:15.6

Grash finished Kalastrum at Hardenswale and I wanted to talk about dairy in human health.

0:22.0

As many of you know, there are definitely a lot of indigenous cultures, European cultures and even sub-Saharan African cultures like the Messiah that include dairy in their diet and thrive with this.

0:34.0

As I'm going to talk about in this controversial thoughts, which I will try to keep as short as possible.

0:39.0

There are many benefits to dairy and there are lots of studies that show inverse relations again these are epidemiology studies but there are lots of studies that show inverse relationships between dairy consumption and a variety of diseases.

0:53.0

So there are a lot of cultures, there is an ancestral historical precedent to including dairy in our diets.

1:00.0

But as we thought about including immunomilk and the Hardenswale lineup, I had to think about that the fact that for myself, I've never really been able to tolerate dairy.

1:09.0

Now, not wanting to be selfish, I thought I can't ignore the fact that there are many of the clients that I have worked with over the years who have told me fantastic stories of improvement in their gut health and overall immune health with the inclusion of Kalastrum in their diet.

1:27.0

And so with that in mind, I did some research on Kalastrum and decided that it would be a very valuable addition to our lineup at Hardenswale.co.

1:36.0

So our grass fed grass finished Kalastrum is now live at Hardenswale.co if you want to check it out after this video.

1:44.0

Here's the deal with dairy for myself and some other people casing and way which are proteins and dairy are immunogenic.

1:52.0

And when I eat dairy, it triggers my exma a little bit and I get a little bit of itchiness on my beard and my scalp.

1:58.0

But there are a lot of people I know who do just fine with dairy and I think this is simply the immunologic uniqueness of every human.

2:06.0

And so if you are someone who does well with butter or ghee or dairy, immunomilk could be a very valuable thing for you.

2:14.0

Kalastrum could be a very valuable thing for you dairy in general could be a very valuable thing for you. And so I wanted to share my thoughts on this. So basically from the outset, the first decision point is do you react to dairy.

2:26.0

And now the first question is do you react to cow's milk dairy, right? And so yes, I react to cow's milk dairy. So I've excluded that from my life.

2:35.0

The next question is do you react to goat's milk dairy or other types of dairy that are not cow's milk. And I have found personally that I reacted those as well. So dairy is out for me, even ghee causes reactions for me.

2:47.0

But if you are someone who can include cow's milk dairy in your life, there's a lot of good nutrients in there. And we're going to talk about a lot of them, including calcium, IGF1, which is insulin micro factor one, which is incredibly beneficial for wound healing, TGF alpha and beta lots of them coming at the end of this video and many podcasts.

3:04.0

If you react to cow's milk, you might be able to do goat's milk instead. And if you react to goat's milk, you might be able to do goat's milk, which is another good fact. So understand that there's different people who might react to different types of dairy, but that including more foods in your diet, and including more animal foods in your diet, I think is better than not.

3:23.0

So I really hope that people will understand that my intention is to just offer wisdom or offer some knowledge is perhaps a better word for this that might help people select the most and least toxic plant foods and we're going to have an infographic with that at heart and soil.co very soon.

3:42.0

So the animal foods that may be more and less triggering for them, clinically I've noticed that some people react to eggs and some people react to dairy, but if you can tolerate eggs and dairy, these are very nutritious foods.
