Summary

Contrast is a new project I’m working on to supplement the photography video’s I make. If you missed the last episode, this is going to be an online magazine. The website is up now – so feel free to check it out! http://contra.st I’ve decided we’re going to be doing this in a “seasonal” format – so there will be 4 “issues” per year. The first will be slated to come out in this fall. I plan on featuring lesser known photographers – most likely in both interview and portfolio formats. This will likely dovetail in with the videos I produce as well depending on who I can get for interviews. There will also be tutorial sections and some type of inclusion of featured photographers from the show’s viewer base. 0:03.4	We're going to do a little behind the scenes in this video and I want to give you some
0:06.5	updates to where we are with contrast and if you're not familiar with what
0:09.4	contrast is going to be this is a project that I'm doing in conjunction with Square Space and we're
0:14.0	going to do an online photography magazine. And I made an announcement about this a couple
0:18.4	of weeks ago. I've done a lot of work on it. I want to give you guys an update on where we are and I want to show
0:22.2	you some of the things we're working on.
0:24.0	This is going surprisingly smoothly and the whole idea that I wanted to do with this was another creative outlet
0:30.0	to compliment what we do with the videos that I produce.
0:34.0	And so with video because it's a linear format
0:37.4	and you watch it in real time,
0:39.3	and I guess you can bump around in the video,
0:40.9	but it doesn't lend itself as smoothly to things like portfolios of work or
0:45.7	images that I want to show that I'm not talking about necessarily.
0:49.4	So I think contrast is going to be something that would really compliment that nicely.
0:54.0	The other thing is a lot of the photographers that I cover on this show usually are very well-known and established names.
1:01.0	And I think there's a lot of photographers out there that are very deserving that are very good.
1:06.0	And I think contrast could be a really cool place to do that.
1:09.0	So when you come check out what we've produced, I want you to kind of come away being
1:13.7	introduced to some new people maybe you didn't know about before that are very
1:17.7	deserving of the recognition that they're not getting right now and I think this
