Employees of the Federal Financial Watchdog have been told to stay home this week,

as its headquarters in Washington, D.C., temporarily shuts down.

In an email obtained by CNN, staff at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau were told

yesterday afternoon to work remotely.

It comes a day after the newly appointed acting director told them to stop virtually all work,

including fighting financial abuse.

It hasn't come as a complete surprise, though, with Elon Musk posting on X days earlier,

CFPB, RIP, with a tombstone emoji.

Meanwhile, with a new week comes a new tariff announcement from President Donald Trump.

Any steel coming into the United States is going to have a 25 percent tariff, aluminum too.

Trump also said he plans to have a separate news conference Tuesday or Wednesday to announce

massive reciprocal tariffs, which could match other countries' duties on U.S. goods, dollar-for-dollar.
