Summary

One of the most helpful things we did along the way was to increase our knowledge and awareness of our kids’ personalities so we could better approach both parenting and homeschooling. Simply having a bit of a picture of how our kids are wired by God and taking the time to make some tweaks in how we communicate with them can help us avoid a host of unnecessary power struggles. Today my friend Sara(another veteran homeschool mom) and I discuss this topic and provide simple resources. The Unhurried Homeschooler Unhurried Grace for a Mom’s Heart The Four Hour School Day The Simply Unhurried Community Hidden Keys To Loving Relationships(old, but free on YouTube) Relational Parenting Personality Plus for Families Love Languages for Kids Gary Smalley Online Personality Test Sara’s Summarized Word Doc Drive-Through Talking (P.S. Don't forget to check out my latest book, The Four Hour School Day: How You and Your Kids Can Thrive in the Homeschool Life on Amazon, durendawilson.com, or your favorite bookseller!)

launched, and ready for all of you.

1:34.6

I think every parent can relate to that moment when you think to yourself,

1:39.7

how is it that two parents can have such vastly different children?

1:47.4

It can be challenging to navigate the relationship and homeschooling with certain personalities,

1:52.5

often because they're so different from us, but sometimes because there's so much like us,

1:58.1

but just an awareness of all of that and how to walk that out can be so helpful.

2:05.7

But it does require us to take stock of the differences and learn to navigate the relationship and our homeschooling in a way that works for them and works for us.

2:11.4

Today, my friend Sarah is joining me to talk about this. Sarah has been on the podcast with me a couple of times before.
