When we reduce him to just one of these, we end up with a flattened, self-made version of God rather than the true God of the Bible.

The Psalm, this Psalm is a whole.

You can't just take a little piece out of it, though I, we are leaving off part of it.

But you have to see the main structure of it.

It's a long piece, and it'll be easier to understand the structure if you have multiple readers.

So we're going to do something a little different than we usually do.

And so we're going to read Psalm 107, verses 1 to 31, and then the summary verse at the end, 43.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.

His love endures forever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord say this,

those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,

those he gathered from the lands from east and west,

from north and south.

Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle.

They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away.

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
