Welcome to the movement of the Holy Family and day nine in our preparation for

consecration to marry on December 8th. And so we begin in the name of the

Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

I would like to offer this Rosary, especially for a young woman named Liz and for her baby she's in her 34th week of

pregnancy and is being induced at this moment so let's pray for safe delivery for mother and child.

I would also like everyone to know that I read each of the prayer requests that are sent in and offer

this rosary each night for all of those intentions.

At Fatima, God revealed his plan to save the world and souls from self-destruction by means of consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

To grasp the significance of Fatima, we recall that on June 28, 1914,

Archduke Franz Ferdinand of the Austria-Hungarian Empire, was assassinated

igniting World War I.

Because of the new mechanization of warfare, in the first three weeks of World War I,

more than a million soldiers lost their lives in battle.

In 1915, more than 4 million and in 1916 two and a quarter million were killed on the Western Front alone.

On a single day at the Battle of the Somme, July 1st, 1916, the British Army lost 60,000 men.

By the spring of 1917, no progress had been made except for the rise in the death toll.

The trench lines had not moved and there was no end in sight.

Yet neither side was interested in peace. The world seemed bent on suicide. 17, Pope Benedict the 15th in a radio address to the world, begged the world to pray that

Mary under the specific title Queen of Peace would come to the world's assistance at this dark moment.

Eight days later, Sunday, May 13th, the Queen of Peace herself came to three little children in Fatima, Portugal, Jacinta,

Francesco, and Lucia.
