Well, we've been fighting about how to introduce each session,

and we weren't quite sure what to do so welcome to the jazz bar

let's begin in the name of the father and the son and the Holy Spirit Let's call to mind all those we've promised

to pray for and you can hit pause to make time for your list. I've received

many prayer requests with people who are going through grave and very difficult trials and sufferings, so we offer all of our Rosaries together for all of these prayer

intentions. The world is dying for a movement of family and friends who live a specific way of life that involves friendship, good conversation, and praying the Rosary together.

And today we reflect on true friendship.

Aristotle thought that friendship was the most important human good.

Even if you had all other goods, you would never choose to live without friends.

Do I even really know what friendship is?

According to the ancient Greeks, there are three kinds of friendship.

A pleasant friendship, a useful friendship, and a virtuous friendship.

A pleasant friendship is a relationship in which two people have a good time together.

What each sees and values and the other is that the other is the cause of some pleasure

for himself. Then there is the useful friendship in which two people

find one another useful for pursuing some common goal together. In this relationship, each receives some benefit from the presence or actions of the other,

and this forms the basis of the relationship.

Professional relationships are often useful friendships.

The two exchange benefits with each other.

In scripture, Syrax says,

Let's your acquaintances be many, but your friends, one in a thousand.

...
