The 60-year-old CEO and President of Hilton,

Chris Nissetta, steps into the lobby of the iconic hotel.

He is barely through the door before Chris is handed a hard hat.

The Waldorf Astoria is closed for renovation.

The almost century old building reverberates to the sound of construction work.

And the hard hat isn't the only safety precaution Chris is observing.

He's also wearing a mask to guard against COVID-19,

which is still claiming the lives of many New Yorkers every day. A 30-something woman in a business suit

waves to get his attention and Chris recognizes her even through her own face mask.

She is a journalist here to interview Chris on the state of the hospitality industry.

Chris shakes her hand.

Shall we go someplace a little quieter?

Chris leads Hannah past construction workers round a corner and threw a set of doors into a deserted

lounge.
