important people here at the University of Michigan. First, Danielle Davison, who has been here

about six weeks, an assistant athletic director for compliance and NIL education, and also Brian Townsend, who has

been here in contrast about six decades as the Director of Leadership Development and Community

Engagement. First of all, both of you, thanks for joining me, BT. I'm going to try and make

sure I say Brian Townsend, but you've been here a long time as a player,

The NCAA recently updated its guidance on NIL, which is name image and likeness for student

athletes.

Can you share with our listeners the most important aspects of that new guidance?

Absolutely.

The NCAA recently released guidance that clarified what institutions can be involved with in the NIL space.

Two main highlights for me was the topics of education and facilitation.

Institutions can and have always been able to provide education to student athletes. Education, wow, education is the cornerstone of NIL, and we want to continue to educate our student athletes on a variety of subjects so that they can make informed decisions when it comes to the use of their
