on August the 7th, exactly two months before the regular season opener, Michigan hired

Brandon Norado as their interim head hockey coach.

And he sits down with me in just a few minutes to talk about him accepting the job, the moment

that it became true and real to him, the conversation he had with his kids,

but also where this program is, where he wants it to go this year.

Well, Conquering Heroes is finally back, and I'm pleased to be joined by our new men's

ice hockey coach, and that's Brandon Nerato.

Brandon, first of all, thanks for joining me.

You're our first guest of the season, and I know you're not new to Michigan, but a new position. How have you adjusted?

I appreciate you guys having me. I have adjusted. My bad joke is that I've been telling everyone I've been drinking through a fire hose since I started. There's a lot to do. But all positive, we're getting a lot done and starting to build it the way

that we want. What does it mean for you to right now be the interim head coach of Michigan hockey?

I think it means a lot. I mean, even just, you know, you take the time to, you know, talk to Ward

and you get the job and you're excited for a split second and then you know

especially the family seeing how excited my family was was really cool I've got a seven-year-old

and a five-year-old and they were pretty pumped up and met my wife at Michigan so a lot of
