We are continuing our series of the newest members of the Hall of Honor, and today I'm excited to be joined by a member of the Michigan men's tennis program, three-time All-American, four-time

all-Big Ten, 1988 Big Ten athlete of the year, and to this date, still the winningest player

in program history.

And what was it like when you got the call from Ward manual that you were going into the Hall of

Honor? John, first of all, thanks for having me on. Really enjoy listening to the podcast. And

yeah, when I got the call from Ward, you know, very surreal. Number one, I almost didn't pick up

the number. You know, I don't tend to answer numbers that I don't know.

And it was kind of a strange number.

I thought, well, maybe I better answer it.

And then it was Ward.

And, you know, I really didn't get it.

You know, I thought, why is he calling me?

Is he asking me for money?

Maybe he wanted to talk to us.
