Hello everybody and welcome once again to The View from the Lane, the Tottenham-Mossburg podcast produced with such spectacular success by The Athletic.

Joining me, Danny Kelly, today from the aforementioned Athletic are James Moore and Dan Kilpatrick.

And I suppose you could let out a peal of trumpets across the land.

Spurs have done a major, and I use that word advisedly transfer,

but not on the last day of the January transfer window, and not apparently involving a three-week negotiation with the club

who are bewildered by Spurs' attitudes.

Connor Gallagher is as a spur.

He's wearing the shirt.

He's talking about how excited and honoured he is to play.

What's your overall thoughts about that, Dan?

Just to get the ball rolling.

Well, I think the first thing to say, and you've touched on it there, is it's the first

transfer of the post-leavy era for Spurs, and it feels very unleavy-like.

From reporting, we hear that Spurs have effectively blown Villa out the water for Gallagher

by offering 10 or 12 million euros more than Villa were prepared to pay

and offering a permanent transfer immediately rather than a loan with an option or obligation.

And that feels very un-Leavy-like. As you've touched on, it feels like if Levy was still in charge,

you know, this would have been one that that dragged

out or simply he wasn't he wouldn't have been prepared to pay you know up from the kind of money

that spurs are paid when villa are offering so much less so so you know we've heard that this is a new

era and spurs are going to operate differently and they're going to be more ambitious and you know
