So everybody's been trying to figure out exactly how Eraldus Chapman is doing what

Eraldus Chapman's doing. Well, Buster Olney had a pretty good hypothesis or explanation

after talking to some folks. And it had to do with Connor Wong, had to do with

pitchcom, had to do with something

to happen in spring training.

And this is what Buster Olney said to our good friend Rob Freeman pitching ninja on Rob's

podcast.

Apparently in spring training this year, Connor Wong was catching him in a game.

And as you know, Roll this Chapman's command during the course of his career has been kind of spotty, right? But Connor Wong is catching him. And for years, of course, Rollis Chapman is one of those guys. But when he's on the mound, the catcher basically is like just, might as well have just waved his hands, just throw your fastball, right?

And he just throws it down the middle.

Connor Wong is using pitchcom and he pushes on his pitchcom inside fastball.

And the light bulb goes off over Chapman's head.

And he tells Connor Wong and Veritech like, wow, I've never thought about spotting my fastball.

I just threw it to home plate.

But this is the first time, like verbally hears inside fastball or subsequently outside fastball.

And so it's that whole thing of, and you've seen in movies, sniper, et cetera,

aim small, miss small.
