Meanwhile, New York Attorney General Letitia James told a crowd that she will use the law as a “sword” to go after President Donald Trump. 0:38.8	You know, we got, it went really underreported, but we had major progress on the tax front
0:44.4	over the weekend, Friday night slash Saturday morning, about 2.30 a.m. The Senate passed an
0:49.9	amendment to the House budget, which not only included all of the tax cut extensions that were
0:56.3	in the House budget, but actually made the change that we've been asking for, which is
0:59.6	changing from a temporary to a permanent extension by using what's called the current policy
1:04.2	baseline. That is to say, instead of assuming that all the tax hikes expire at the end of
1:08.6	this year and it'll cost money to extend them, they said, let's assume that tax is staying the same as the default.
1:14.2	And if we allow that tax hike to take place, that actually is an increase in taxes.
1:19.0	And that makes a big difference in terms of the rules and the scoring.
1:22.3	And basically, it means they can make it permanent with 50 votes instead of needing 60.
