Mike Johnson, the Republican Speaker of America's House of Representatives,

will dismiss the chamber early for summer to avoid an awkward vote related to Jeffrey Epstein.

For days, Democrats, joined by some Republicans, have been trying to force a vote that would compel the Trump administration

to release documents about the late convicted pedophile. The House will reconvene in September.

Ukraine's Parliament passed legislation that would give the presidential office greater control

over the country's anti-corruption bodies, weakening their independence.

The move follows other actions intended to rein in reformers and anti-corruption campaigners.

The EU's enlargement commissioner, Martakos, said that the vote

marked a, quote, serious step back for Ukraine. The UN said that more than 1,000 people have

been killed by Israel's armed forces while trying to get food in Gaza since the launch of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation's

food distribution system on May 27th. The UN refuses to cooperate with the controversial organization,

which is supported by America and Israel. Israel disputed the UN's death toll.

The Chinese government prevented an American federal employee from leaving China.
