The Delta variant continues to spread across the country just as Americans were preparing to return to normalcy after the wide availability of coronavirus vaccines. Those in the U.S. returning to the workplace or sending their children back to school in the fall are given pause now by the highly infectious variant of COVID-19 that is bringing with it a surge in cases and hospitalizations. Physician and Dean of Public Health at Brown University, Dr. Ashish Jha joins to explain why COVID-19 booster shots may become an important tool for protecting the most compromised Americans, how the improvement of international vaccination efforts will lead to fewer variants, whether requiring masks in schools will be necessary and the importance of medical professionals addressing the concerns of those who are vaccine hesitant.
