I'm Dr. Troy Henkel.

I'm here at the special, special team tonight because in this case we have a

special couple that's getting their nuptials blessed tonight. Doc and Maria

Holiday, yes the real Doc Holiday is here with me tonight, so we're praying for the holidays and their family and friends who are gathered with us.

I also received some special petitions today from my friend Charlotte Osterman, her husband Russ, and they're battling some sickness,

and a young man named Lucas down in Georgia who looks like he's going to need eye surgery,

and for all those petitions that have been sent in.

We call to mind that we're ever in the presence of Almighty God

in whom we live and move and have our being.

We call upon him in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The title of this Rosary, Conformity, and Freedom.

In St Paul's letter to the Romans, he tells us that for those whom God foreknew he also predestined to be

conformed to the image of his son in order that he might be the first born among many brethren. This passage is very controversial because

predestined conformity is precisely why many people claim to despise organized religion.

The root of modern reaction against religion centers on this belief that conforming to God

takes away our freedom.

It limits our human creativity and our expression.

Turning us, so the saying goes,

the belief goes into mindless robots.

In the mad dash for freedom, however, to do what we want, we end up enslaved in vice, error, and even sometimes addiction.

The venerable Fulton Sheen offers this interesting point.
