There is probably no other biblical author that spoke more about love and considered its effects and implications in such detail.

So when John tells us how to have confidence on the coming day of judgment

and the role that love will play, we should all pay close attention.

So the theme of this meditation from 1 John, Chapter 4, is about love.

And how to be confident standing on the love of God when facing eternity. As we begin, know that you're safe here surrounded by the word of God

and the incarnate word that is his son. There's nothing to fear here.

Just feel the presence of God's love.

Take three deep belly breaths.

As your eyes drift, first from open,

then to a soft focus.

And then finally to closed.

Rest in this place of reliance, this time of love, and this moment of confidence in the

presence of God, as the Holy Spirit transforms your mind into that of Christ.

Prepare by listening and praying from this passage from Philippians chapter 4.

Respond softly, Heavenly Father, I am confident in your love.
